DESCRIPTION:
Austrian, Elsner & Petrovits, in Wien, C.1840, 6-light Dachluhr, single weight timepiece, 8-day; mov't original to case.
CONDITION:
the rosewood and grained case has been refinished and the molded top trim is new. Early pendulum is brass both sides; note bob is perfect, but lacquer has crystallized producing an odd foto. Movement has been cleaned & running dial excellent, good signature. Has old glass with grains and fish eyes. For similar clocks, see Kaltenböcks book titled "Viennese Timepieces", page 212. Ht 37"
